Before & After School Care
Carousel’s Before and After School Care program serves children ages 5 through 12. We provide pick up and drop off to and from Baxter, Ptarmigan, and Chester Valley Elementary schools.
In the morning we serve breakfast and help children prepare for their school day in a calm, supportive environment. In the afternoon children return to a place where they are known by name, welcomed back, and given time to transition, recharge, and engage.
Our school age program is grounded in the same Pyramid Model social-emotional framework that guides every classroom at Carousel. Staff build consistent, trusting relationships with children and families, and activities are planned to be purposeful, enriching, and developmentally appropriate for school age learners.
Afternoon programming includes:
- Homework assistance with staff support
- Art and creative projects
- Dramatic play
- physical activity
- Cooperative games
- STEM exploration and hands-on projects
- Structured free choice and social skill building
During summer break, winter break, and spring break we offer full day programming with daily activities, community field trips, and themed weekly plans that keep school age children engaged, active, and learning all year long.
All meals and snacks are served through the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program at no additional cost to enrolled families.
